Queens of Mourning is one of a four part series of watercolor paintings inspired by the King Arthur Legends. My interest is to bring a dreamlike and magical quality to the themes of death, mortality, and the fantasies of living for forever. Watercolor brings illumination and softness of water and magic and mysticism to this scene of the ladies of Avalon mourning the loss of King Arthur as they take him by boat to Avalon.

This is a one of a kind original painting, created by Elinore Eaton in 2019.
